Grease Traps / Dosing Systems

Grease Traps

Our range of grease traps are designed to be installed underground for use in restaurants, nursing homes, hotels & pubs, food processing factories and fast food outlets.

Our standard units are designed to suit up to 500 meals a day. The traps are designed to ensure that the liquid is stored within the unit for at least a day allowing the liquid to cool so that the fats and greases can be retained.

The traps are emptied by vacuum tanker and do not require baskets to be removed manually.

Grease Dosing Systems

A build up of grease, oil and fat can cause the drain runs from the kitchen to become blocked as well as producing a foul odour as the fat starts to rot.

Grease dosing systems are available that will fit under the sink in the kitchen and will pump a measured dose of fat digesting bacteria into the drain run to reduce/eliminate the above problems.

It has the added bonus that it will improve the functioning of a sewage treatment plant.

Interceptors and Separators

Interceptors or Separators are used where there is a risk of oil, chemicals or suspended solids contaminating the surface water drains. They are designed to remove pollutants from the water and allow the cleaned water to discharge into a surface water drain.

Bypass separators are used in low risk sites such as car parks, full retention separators are used on sites where there is a high risk of contamination. Both types come in two classes:

Class 1- achieves concentration of 5mg/l of oil and can be discharged to surface water drain

Class 2- achieves concentration of 100mg/l of oil and can be discharged to foul sewer

Rainwater Harvesting

The range of rainwater harvesting systems is extensive and ranges from a simple water butt collecting roof water to large underground systems for commercial and industrial applications.

Rainwater from roofs is collected, filtered and stored to be reused to irrigate gardens, wash the car or provide water for washing machines and toilets.

The water from the storage tank can be pumped into a header tank situated in the house or pump straight into the system, and the tank is topped up with mains water when required during periods of low rainfall.
