The Allerton Midi Biofilter
The Allerton Midi Biofilter is a medium sewage treatment system ideal for medium sized housing developments or commercial applications. Producing high quality effluent, the Allerton Midi Biofilter discharges direct to your watercourse or soakaway.¹
The Allerton Midi Biofilter is available in four models, the 15PE, 20PE. 25PE and 30PE. Typical uses for these sewage treatment systems are:
- 15PE: 15 person system for 3 x 3 bed houses or commercial premises.
- 20PE: 20 person system 4 x 3 bed houses or commercial premises.
- 25PE: 25 person system ideal for larger property developments.
- 30PE: 30 person system ideal for larger property developments.

How our medium sewage treatment system works
See illustration to the right.² Settled sewage flows by gravity from the Primary Settlement Tank into the baffle zone (6) of the Allerton Midi Biofilter, where the irrigation pump (5) is used to spray the effluent over the media (3) via the distribution system (2).
The effluent is recycled many times through the media to achieve the necessary standard. Eventually, the effluent is allowed to settle in the final settlement zone from where it is discharged at a standard to satisfy the Environment Agency.
The Secondary Sludge Return Pump (7), periodically removes any settled sludge and returns it back to the Primary Settlement Tank, where it is stored until removed by tanker.
